Been born in 1982, Filippo starts playing guitar at the age of 13 years old, following some basic guitar courses and listening bands as Guns’n Roses and Metallica, which feed his passion for rock music.
When sixteenth, Filippo starts playing with “Fuso Orario”, a rock Italian cover band, while taking lessons from some local artists to perfection his style. In 2000 he leaves the “Fuso Orario” and founds the “Felt Illusions Last”, a new rock/crossover band. Filippo plays with F.I.L. until 2004 and, thanks the band, has many interesting experiences recording two demos and playing live in many concerts and competitions (the most important are a live acoustic set on a local radio, an apparition on a local TV net and the participation to the Venice Festival at the Cinema Palace of Venice).
In 2002 he enters the Lizard Modern Music Academy of Padova, obtaining the Lizard Licence. In these years he studies with Nicola Balliana, former guitarists of the metal-prog band Stramonio, and participates at some clinics of Alex Stornello, Carl Verheyen and Massimo Varini. At the moment (2007) Filippo is preparing for the final examination.
In 2005 Filippo realizes the solo instrumental demo “The other side”, clearly inspired to the Joe Satriani style, but with a various and original approach in the arrangements. This extremely interesting work is entirely composed, recorded and mixed by Filippo. The opener of the demo, the song “Ice track”, is enriched by the guest artist Nicola Balliana, axeman of the Stramonio, with a beautiful line between his own guitar and the Filippo’s one. “Ice track” has been also used in a video for the inauguration of the “Roxy Bar” in Bologna and the demo has received many positive reviews.
From october to december 2006 Filippo is involved in a particular deep experience, accompanying the chorus of "mental health center" of Piove di Sacco. In January 2007 he makes some remixes for the Hip Hop group of Scilla Dance School of Solaro (Milano). From April to May he collaborates with the singer Patrizia Motta from Milano (www.myspace.com/patrizia_m) realizing an inedit R'n'B song.
In the first months of 2007 the song "Cloudy day", an extract from the new album, is used into the soundtrack of the Dvd "Fezzano and the history in dvd vol. 2".
In May 2007 Filippo Martin releases the new album "Still in my dreams" with ALEX DE ROSSO (ex DOKKEN; JOSEPH WILLIAMS former singer of Toto...) as a special suest on the lead guitar An other guest artist is the singer Massimo Danieli. The new album is produced by Crotalo Edizioni Musicali and NewLM Records and distributed by Masterpiece Distribution.
